Lead Changes of Hydrogen Electric Transport: REFIRE Technology’s Clean Power Solution Shines at the 4th CIIE

2021-11-05

On November 5, the 4th China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as “CIIE”) opened in the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai. REFIRE Technology, the world’s leading provider of fuel cell technology, attends the CIIE as an exhibitor after its first participation last year, continues to focus on hot issues, such as energy transformation and green and low-carbon technological innovation, and brings its latest cutting-edge clean power solution to the automobile exhibition area, fully presenting innovation fruits and application cases of fuel cell technology.

Indigenous Innovation Technologies Empower Green and Low-carbon Development

As the first CIIE after the initial year of implementing carbon neutrality goal, “green” and “low-carbon” have become key words of the year. Against such a background, green innovation technologies and products that are safe, reliable and suitable for diversified commercial scenarios will be favorites in various industries. At this CIIE, REFIRE Technology brings its latest indigenously developed 130kW high-power PRISMA XII + fuel cell system, arousing extensive attention in the industry.

With significant advantages of high energy efficiency, zero emission and etc., fuel cell technology is supposed to be one of the key approaches to decarbonize commercial vehicles, especially suitable for heavy commercial vehicles under the operation of long distance, heavy load and harsh environment. Independently developed in view of diversified application scenarios, PRISMA XII+ has significantly improved several key technical indicators compared with its predecessors, to further strengthen the durability, reliability and safety of fuel cell system. In addition, by virtue of excellent overall performance, PRISMA XII+ has been granted Fuel Cell System & Stack Performance Verification Certificate by TÜV Rheinland, an international third-party testing organization.

At the REFIRE Technology booth, a 49T fuel cell smart heavy-duty truck “Xing Suo No. 1”, powered with PRISMA Series products, is another highlight of the exhibition:

The truck is equipped with a 12-cylinder 70Mpa on-board hydrogen storage system. In actual operation, it only takes more than 10 minutes for hydrogenation to achieve a cruising of nearly 1,000 kilometers. In addition, powered by L4 piloted driving and intelligent network technology, it optimizes operation and improves efficiency.

Enjoy the Spillover Effect of the CIIE, Promote High-quality Economic Development

Owing to the spillover effect of the CIIE, REFIRE Technology has constantly expanded “international network of friends”, and established a close connection with global partners upstream and downstream hydrogen industry chain, such as Schaeffler, Garrett, DuPont, Continental, Toyota, eCap Mobility, to jointly accelerate the application and popularization of fuel cell technology worldwide.

In just six years of growth since establishment, REFIRE Technology has firmly seized historical opportunities given by the nation and industrial policy, been deeply rooted in the Central Business District of the Hongqiao International Hub for Opening Up, the cradle of the CIIE, and followed the trend to vigorously promote new strategic deployments. Currently, REFIRE Technology has determined to establish a brand-new R&D and production center, for the purpose of becoming a supporting R&D base of “National Power Cell Innovation Center Fuel Cell Sub-center”. This strategic investment has become one of the 40 major projects signed in the “three batches” of the Hongqiao International Central Business District, continuously promoting commercial demonstration of fuel cell vehicles in the core areas involved in the economic integration of the Yangtze River Delta.

In addition to promoting international economic and trade exchanges and cooperation, the CIIE is also a key driver of high-quality development of regional economy, especially for the economic integration of the Yangtze River Delta. REFIRE Technology is headquartered in North Hongqiao area where serves as a strategic gateway to the Yangtze River Delta and the hinterland of Shanghai, and such a core location facilitates regional partnerships of various industries. Therefore, REFIRE Technology has focused on road transportation, and supported commercial operation of fuel cell vehicles, such as e-commerce, fresh food, logistics, and public transport. Taking advantage of the approval of Shanghai fuel cell vehicle demonstration city cluster, REFIRE Technology will further collaborate with industrial partners, focus on new models of the demonstration city cluster and application scenarios, i.e., “medium-long-distance + medium-heavy-duty”, build high-quality fuel cell vehicle industry cluster and achieve more “green” fruits.

Against the backdrop of dual circulation, opening up will be the prevailing trend of future development in China. As a member of global hydrogen energy industry, REFIRE Technology has always upheld the philosophy of opening up, cooperation and embracing industrial transformations. Robin Lin, president and CEO of REFIRE Group and CTO of REFIRE Technology, said: “REFIRE Technology will closely follow the trend of the times, exploit macro chances and industrial opportunities, and make good use of the CIIE as an international cooperation and exchange event to further deepen international cooperation in hydrogen energy industry and speed up the commercial application of hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology, providing higher quality and more reliable green power solutions for China and the global market, leading changes of hydrogen electric transport, and creating a sustainable future for the plant.”

Since 2017, REFIRE Technology has taken the lead in the industrialization and commercialization of fuel cell application in automobile in China. As of early November 2021, it has developed dozens of fuel cell vehicle models with many well-known domestic and foreign automobile companies; urban buses powered by PRISMA Series and rated tons from 4.5 to 49 fuel cell trucks have been adopted in several countries, such as China, Germany, the United States, Switzerland, Japan, and Malaysia, serving public transport, industrial products transportation, inter-city high-speed logistics, freight rail, slag transportation and municipal administration and etc. Besides, REFIRE Technology has been actively committed to the application and development of diversified commercial scenarios of fuel cell technology in areas, such as vessels and construction machinery.
