2月On February 18, a ceremony in honor of the delivery of SANY hydrogen fuel cell mixer trucks was held at the hydrogenation station on Yungang Road in Yueyang city. This was the first batch of hydrogen fuel cell mixer trucks ever delivered in the world. Based on the agreement of strategic cooperation on hydrogen energy, the first batch of 5 hydrogen-cell mixer trucks has been delivered to Yueyang Communications Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. for urban construction use.
These brand-new hydrogen fuel cell mixer trucks produced by SANY are equipped with the 110kW PRISMA fuel cell system of REFIRE, which features zero emission, strong power and long endurance, thus capable of high-intensity, all-weather operation while being environmentally-friendly. In addition, the vehicle hydrogen supply system is characterized by an array of impressive safety designs, such as high temperature protection, overflowing protection, low pressure alarm, and leakage detection and control, underpinning stable, safe vehicle gas supply. Xiang Wenbo, member of the Board of Directors of SANY Group and Chairman of SANY Heavy Industry, stressed at the ceremony that hydrogen energy, clean, efficient, sustainable and resource-rich, is hailed as the ultimate energy for the 21st century. The development of hydrogen energy not only serves China’s 2030/60 carbon reduction goals, but also helps protect energy security. It boasts immense possibility for growth in the future, he said.

Of particular note, the hydrogen fuel cell mixer truck jointly developed with SANY Heavy Industry is the first special construction machinery vehicle equipped with the REFIRE fuel cell system. Batch delivery of the vehicles marks an important step forward in REFIRE’s exploration of diverse application scenarios for hydrogen cell systems. Hydrogen fuel cell systems, which are expected to be applied first in public-purpose vehicles such as urban logistics cars, buses and municipal sanitation vehicles, are increasingly promoted and used, with constantly upgraded commercial operation models. On February 10, 2022, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the Opinions on Improving Systems, Mechanisms, Policies and Measures for Green and Low-carbon Transition of Energy, stressing the importance of building a new development paradigm, deepening the revolution in energy consumption, accelerating to forge a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, and promoting high-quality energy development and all-round green transformation in socio-economic development.
